This Photograph is by Margaret Brouke-White, titled Fort Peck Dam from 1936.

This image interests me because it has the feeling of the sublime, showing you how small you are compaired to thoi dam.

Blog #5 Update: I chose this image because I really like the lines created in it and the fact that it makes you feel so small in this world. To me, Photography that can make you feel things like that are powerful.

blog 1

Image: Nevin Aladag, Freeze, photography Series, 2003. Courtesy of the artist and Gitte Weise gallery, Berlin

The first exhibition i found interesting was that of Various artists reflection on Turkish migration. This exhibit is in London at this time.
I chose this image because it has a great composition. I love how the world is still except for the biker and some cars. It has a lot of movement in it which is what makes me find it so interesting to look at.

Hans Peter-Feldmann "One Pound Strawberries", 2004. 34 foto's, 4 x 4 inches each. Courtesy of the artist and 303 Gallery, New York.

I chose this images as another one that interested me because i think it's lots of fun. This piece is made up of a group of smaller 4 x 6 images of strawberries. This image attracted me because it was so different from the other images of artwork at this exhibition. while they all seemed to have something light about them, this one stood out because of it's subject matter and simple color palette.

Lastly I chose Tim Etchells interactive exhibit where a series of text messages were sent to the viewers cell phone, giving them instructions of what to do. I thought this was really interesting and it fit in with the other work that was with this. To me what caught my eye was the unique idea and how it was carried out. this work is being shown in london in february.
